NATIONAL PARK — Gov. Chris Christie is expected to say on Monday what he’ll try to do to stop a project to deepen the Delaware River.
Like other New Jersey and Delaware officials, the governor opposes deepening the shipping channel because he believes it would cause environmental harm.
Pennsylvania leaders want the project to move ahead, saying the dredging would allow bigger ships at area ports and boost the economy.
A federal judge has sided with them.
Dredging could begin this week.
Christie has a news conference planned for Monday afternoon to lay out his intentions.
