Oak Street between Vine and Albert to open next week...
Township officials have told Lakewood 246 that final paving has been completed on Oak Street between Vine and Albert. Once line painting is done, the road should be opened.
The opening of Oak St will connect to south side of Lakewood with the industrial area, as well as making travel to locations such as the Lake Terrace hall and New Hampshire Ave much more convenient.
Parkway North near 117 will close lane for repairs...
Garden State Parkway officials will close down at least one local lane on the northbound side of the highway tonight in to Wednesday morning to replace a 60-year-old steel drainage pipe that collapsed and caused a sinkhole on the roadway.
Motorists are advised to use the express lanes to avoid the construction site which is a few miles north of the PNC Bank Arts Center, officials said.

Police detectives are investigating the tragic death of an autistic 20-year-old client who had returned to the Woods Services residential facility from Sesame Place and was found dead hours later in the back of the Woods’ van.

NJ Electric Utility Files For Rate Decrease...
Jersey Central Power & Light is seeking permission from state regulators for a $180 million rate decrease.
The utility said Monday that the change would reduce the bill for an average residential customer by 5 percent, or just over $66 a year.
